Cultivating or turning the soil in your garden is a necessary part of soil preparation for planting. Once cultivated though, mulching the soil or garden helps to suppress weed growth. While hand weeding is kindest on the environment, for larger garden areas, lawns, or weeds in pathways or aggregates, it can be more time effective to use a non-selective or selective herbicide. Here at Peards Nursery Albury, we stock a range of glyphosate-based herbicides to control weeds by spot spraying carefully in garden beds, paths, paved areas or decorative aggregates. Also stocked are a variety of selective herbicides to control weeds in buffalo grass and other types of lawns, such as the classic Weed ‘n Feed by Yates, which comes in a ready-to-use hose on or granular form. Other selective herbicide products specifically target woody weeds, trees, or tough to kill grasses such as Paspalum, Nut Grass or Mullumbimby Couch.

Glyphosate products in include Yates Zero Weedkiller Super Concentrate, Brunnings Concentrate Weed Kill, Yates Path Weeder Concentrate and Amgrow Eraze Total Weed Killer. Zero weed wands and Zero ready-to-use sprays are also available.

Selective weed killer concentrates include Amgrow Bindii Clover Killer, Amgrow Paspalum, Nutgrass and Clover spray, Amgrow Kleen Lawn, Yates Buffalo Pro and Yates Tree and Blackberry Killer.

Organic weed sprays are also available at Peards Nursery Albury. These products include Slasher, a fast-acting, nonanoic acid-based weed killer concentrate, Nature’s Way clove oil-based ready-to-use spray, and Amgrow’s Organix Weed Blitz pine oil-based ready-to-use spray.
